Hello there! Welcome to the 6th grade and to the High Tech family! My name is Curtis Taylor, and I will be your 6th Grade Math/Science Teacher this year. I am very excited to meet, grow, and learn with all of you. I was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. I attended Clemson University where I earned my B.A in Elementary Education. Also, I have earned my M.Ed in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) from University of San Diego. Currently, I am working on my Doctorate of Education at University of California, San Diego and California State University San Marcos.
After graduating from Clemson, I have taught 3 years within Greenville County Public Schools. Here I taught one year of 3rd Grade and two years of 5th grade. Also, I was the Math Instructor for the Upward Bound/Gear-Up program at the University of South Carolina Lancaster, which was a great experience to work with prospective first-generation college students. I was soon presented an opportunity to move out west to California and decided to make the move. I was very fortunate to join the High Tech family in the fall of 2013 as the Math Coach at High Tech Middle Chula Vista, and joined High Tech Middle North County in the fall of 2014. I am always excited to be in the classroom, and excited for what we have in store for this year. I feel that it is awesome to be working with Mr. Clark this year as my teaching partner! Outside of work, I love music (playing, listening, singing), traveling, jogging, biking, and spending time with my family and my dog, Tucker.
